RV-6A
479 Hours Total Time Airframe, Engine, Prop

This stunning RV-6A built by a master craftsman & multiple RV builder for his personal use till the loss of his Medical. As the 2nd owner I upgraded the Auto Pilot & Andair Fuel Valve, added the Infinity Grips, Classic Aero Leather seats and integrated the Garmin 396 into the panel. This is a no excuses plane inside & out that flies fast and true.

Exterior:
White & Bonanza Blue & Burgundy in excellent condition as the plane has always been hangered. 3 new tires & tubes, newer brakes

Interior:
Custom made leather Classic Aero seats nicely match the complete interior including sidewalls and carpet. Attention to detail is obvious with important upgrades like fiberglassing the underside of the tip up canopy for that finished look with the top up. Color matching 4 point seatbelts, Sliding Canopy Shade and much more.

Infinity Grips:
Military style multi function Infinity Aerospace grips that include Push to Talk, Auto Pilot Disconnect, Trim & Momentary Flap Extension and Auto Flap Retract (for Go Around) and all controlled from both Pilot & Co-Pilot stick. The panel has a hidden toggle switch to deactivate all Co-Pilot stick functions if needed.

Panel:
The panel on N413RV is clean, well thought out and functional. The list of features are long but include:
  • Garmin 250XL GPS Comm/Nav
  • Bendix/King KX 125 Comm/Nav
  • Bendix/King KT 76A Transponder
  • Garmin 396 GPS integrated with ships power & hardwired date to Auto Pilot & XM Audio & WX
  • Standard 6 Pack
  • Digital RPM, Flight Time, Tach Time
  • Digital Manifold Pressure
  • 16 Section Digital Temperature Gauge hooked up display: 4EGT, 4CHT, Carburetor Heat, OAT
  • Digital Oil Pressure / Oil Temperature
  • Digital Volt/Amp Meter
  • Digital Fuel Gauge
  • Flight Com Intercom
  • ELT
  • G-Meter
  • Clock
  • Vacuum Gauge
  • Trim Display
  • Panel & Avionics Light Dimmers & Flood
  • 12V Panel Power
  • Audio Input & Dedicated Music Volume Switch
  • Fuel Pump LED & Flashing flap Motor LED
  • Trio Avionics Auto Pilot (connected to Garmin 250XL & Garmin 396)
  • Trio Avionics Altitude Hold
  • Vernier Controlled Throttle, Prop & Mixture plus panel mounted Flap Control
  • Andair Fuel Valve
  • Spring Bias Aileron trim
  • Co-Pilot Stick Disconnect

As you can see from the photos all avionics electrical routing is clean & well organized (no rats nest of wires).
This panel is a pleasure to fly behind because of its clean straight forward & traditional layout. I primarily use the Garmin 396 for entering in my flight plan and driving the Auto Pilot as well as tuning in the XM Weather & Music. With a flip of a switch the Garmin 250XL can drive the AP without skipping a beat. I use the KX 125 primarily for monitoring 121.5 and picking up ATIS but again with a flip of a switch can be used as the primary Comm or Nav. I often can hear ATIS from 90 miles out at 7000 MSL.

Engine/Prop:
479 TTSN Aerosport 0-360 Engine & Hartzell prop. Aerosport is the primary engine supplier for Vans Aircraft and well respected in the Experimental community. The engine runs flawlessly starting easily when cold or hot with minimal RPM drop during mag tests.
The Oil & Filter have been changed every 25 hours of flight insuring the life blood of the engine is always fresh and clean. As additional engine protection there is an Air/Oil separator mounted to the firewall that removes any moisture & contaminants from the oil vapor. Rather than routing the return oil line back to the engine case we collect and dispose of this oil. This minimizes the chance of returning any contaminated oil back to the engine.
I have made every attempt to fly this plane in a consistent and gentle manor keeping a close eye on engine, oil, exhaust gas & cylinder head temperatures. The plane is regularly flown at 21.5 MP / 2350 RPM (see Video). With these settings the plane is fast, extremely fuel efficient and comfortably within normal operating temperatures with a lot of throttle left if you want to go even faster.
There is no reason this engine should not go to TBO+.
